We're building a new road-condition dataset generated from journeys rather than periodic inspections.
Cyclists mark defects while riding and we use repeated independent observations to identify deteriorating road segments.
We're currently looking for a small number of highways teams to pilot the data.
We'd like to provide road-condition intelligence for your area and compare it with defects already known to your team.
The question we're trying to answer is whether road-user observations can identify deterioration earlier than existing reporting channels.
It isn't a request to change how your team works — only to test whether plotholes adds information you don't already have.
